Back to Mary
There’s something about keeping it simple. But, as a culture, we tend to complicate things.
Here’s simple for you: “He must increase, I must decrease.”
Let’s trim the fat, getting back down to the heart of it all — the gift of God’s only Son for our salvation.
Let’s keep in mind another truth — Christ came into this world through the “yes” of Mary. It was her faithfulness that won us the victory of Christ.
As her “yes” literally gave birth to Christ, let our “yes” in the form of open hearts give birth to Christ within us.
Make a daily commitment to call on her, whether it’s the Hail Mary, the Memorare, the Miraculous Medal prayer, or another Marian devotion.
Let’s open our hearts to our Blessed Mother, praying for her intercession, calling on her for help.
Let our yes be her’s.
The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
The Miraculous Medal Prayer
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Amen.
