Delays or denials
We live in a world of instant gratification. Fast food, next-day delivery, instant answers at our fingertips. We don’t like waiting.
But God works differently. His timing is rarely ours.
Think of Abraham, promised descendants as numerous as the stars—yet waiting decades for Isaac. Think of Joseph, sold into slavery, falsely accused, imprisoned—years before he saw God’s plan unfold. Think of Mary and Martha, sending word to Jesus that their brother Lazarus was dying—only for Him to wait until after Lazarus had died to arrive.
We often pray for something—a resolution, a sign, a healing—but when it doesn’t happen immediately, doubt creeps in. Has God forgotten? Is He listening?
But the truth is, God’s delays are not His denials.
When the time was right, Sarah bore a son. Joseph was raised to power and saved nations. Lazarus was called forth from the tomb. God was never late. He was working all along.
The same is true in our lives. We may not understand the waiting, but we can trust that God sees the full picture. What seems like silence is often preparation. His timing is perfect, even when we don’t see it.
So if you’re in a season of waiting, take heart. Keep praying, keep trusting. God is never late. And when the time is right, His answer will come.
