Do you also want to leave?
Christ’s teachings were challenging for many people: “As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him.”
A passage from John’s Gospel (John 6:66) challenges us to think about our belief in and devotion to Christ’s teachings.
We see Christ turn to His apostles and ask, “Do you also want to leave?”
Simon Peter answers, “Master, to whom shall we go?”
Right now in our Church, many are questioning what to do. Should I stay or leave? Should I switch churches, or just stop going all together?
But truly, we must ask ourselves: where else would we go?
Our best chance of growing in sanctity and reaching Heaven is to have faith in Christ and His Church. We are amidst a spiritual war, and our best chances of fighting evil is with Him.
That is what our faith offers us, and no other church can do that. Christ is present with us in the Eucharist — body, blood, soul, and divinity.
If we leave Him, to whom else would we go?
