Flutes and Dancing
I love this line from Scripture: "We played the flute for you and you didn't dance."
Imagine yourself walking the streets of downtown. There's someone playing saxophone, or guitar, or whatever. And you walk right on by. Busy.
We've probably seen those videos where a world-renowned musician plays in a subway and no one has time to stop and listen.
But here's what strikes me about that Scripture verseāit's not really about missing good music. It's about missing the moment entirely.
How often do we live like those subway commuters? So focused on where we're going that we miss what's happening right in front of us.
When you hear the flute, dance. When you're with your kids, be with them. When you're at work, work.
The invitation to dance is always there. The question is whether we're present enough to hear the music.
