God's Job
In any family, roles are clear—especially to kids. There are things parents do that children don’t. Maybe even specific things that Dad does and Mom doesn’t. It’s understood: some responsibilities simply aren’t the child’s to carry.
The same is true in our relationship with God.
We are His children. And like children, we’re not meant to take on our Father’s job. We don’t need to carry the full weight of the world, solve every problem, or control every outcome. That’s God’s job.
Our job is to do what we can do—to be faithful in our duties, to live with love and integrity, and to bring our concerns to the Father. And then… trust.
Children don’t lie awake at night worrying about bills or repairs or whether there will be food on the table tomorrow. They rest—because they trust their parents are taking care of it.
That’s the kind of rest God wants for us: not passivity, but peace. A heart that knows it's not alone. A soul that trusts in the Father’s care.
It gets harder as we grow older—especially when we become parents ourselves. We feel the weight of responsibility, and it’s easy to forget that we’re still children too. Children of a God who provides, who sees, who holds it all.
So let’s not try to do God’s job today. Let’s do ours—and let Him do His.
