It is Enough
“It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher.” (Matthew 10:25)
We have often heard Jesus say that a disciple is not greater than his teacher or a servant above his master. But here, He goes a step further: “It is enough.” It’s a simple statement, yet it holds a profound truth about discipleship.
The fact that Jesus says “it is enough” should catch our attention. If the goal of our lives as disciples is simply to become like our Teacher, then it’s worth asking ourselves: Who is our Teacher? And what is He like?
This is why knowing Christ personally is central to our faith—and one of the strongest reasons to immerse ourselves in Scripture, especially the Gospels. They show us His actions, His words, His compassion, and His strength. They reveal the heart of our Teacher, the One we are called to imitate.
How can we emulate someone we don’t know?
Our journey as disciples isn’t about lofty achievements or seeking greatness; it’s about shaping our hearts to resemble His. Today, let’s spend some time with the Gospels, getting to know our Teacher more deeply, so that, like true disciples, we may become like Him. After all, for a disciple, it is enough.
