No One to Pray
In the 1830s, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Catherine Laboure in Paris. It was during these apparitions that we received the image of the Miraculous Medal .
You’ll notice, as Saint Catherine did, that there are rays of light emanating from Mary’s fingers, representing the graces she sends out upon the world. Some of her fingers don’t emit any light, though, and this is because some people don’t ask for graces.
There are people in need of graces — for some a never ending supply of graces — waiting for them to be sent upon the world. This is why it is absolutely essential that we make prayer a daily habit. For our own sakes, for those we love, and for those who have no one to pray for them.
Consider this: How many people do you think are praying daily for your wife? For your mother? For your father? For your siblings? For your friends?
Surely there are some individuals out there offering prayers, but how many? Are those prayers occurring daily, or just once in a while when they feel like it?
If we aren’t praying daily for those who we love most in this world, then who is?
