Prayer Warriors
When we hear the term ‘prayer warrior,’ who do you think of? A little old lady with white hair who always seems to be at church?
That might be the reality, but that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Prayer is meant to be a part of all of our lives. Saint Paul even goes as far as saying that we should pray unceasingly.
While we can’t go ‘zero to sixty’ in one day, we should still take it upon ourselves to start our journey in becoming prayer warriors. And, it’s not only for our own sake, but for our families, our churches, and the world.
We all know prayer should be a part of our daily routine, but the thought of praying every day for the rest of our lives can seem daunting.
But, as with any long road we take in our lives, all we have to do is take it inch by inch, not mile by mile. Be sure to pray today, and don’t worry about the weeks or months to come.
Pray the Our Father, or read a chapter of the Bible before bed, or pray a decade of the Rosary on your commute, or conduct an examination of conscience at the end of your day. Just pray.
Make a commitment, a real commitment to pray. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy — it should be manageable. And, pray for God to work in your life, and grant you the strength, grace, and desire to pray.
