Small Asks
Building on yesterday’s reflection on Little Things, I’ve been thinking about how often God asks small things of us.
When we read the lives of the saints, we tend to focus on the big moments—the miracles, the sacrifices, the suffering for the Kingdom. We see the dramatic conversions, the heroic acts, the unwavering faith in the face of persecution.
And yes, sometimes God does call us to something big. But more often? It’s the small asks.
A little patience when we’re frustrated.
A little kindness when we’re tired.
A little extra effort when we’d rather take the easy way out.
The challenge is to notice these small invitations—to see them for what they are and respond, instead of dismissing them as insignificant. Holiness isn’t just in the grand gestures; it’s in the tiny, hidden moments of faithfulness.
