Take My Heart

We pray that God blesses us with many graces, and indeed, He has given us so much. The very gift of life is inconceivable. But, what do we give to Him in return?

“Take my heart Lord, and do not give it back.” 

This is a short yet powerful prayer. Notice, it’s not “take one hour of my time on Sundays,” nor, “take this envelope with a check in it.” 

No, it’s “take my heart.” It’s your very life and being. And, we do not want the Lord to give our hearts back. We want God to make us His own. 

“I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me.” Galatians 2:19-20

Let your heart be the Lord’s heart. Let us love as He loves.
