The Buck Stops
When something doesn’t go our way, when we don’t get what we want, when we make a mistake — all too often, we’re quick to push the blame.
It’s how our culture raised us, teaching us that it’s always someone else’s fault. I don’t know whose fault it is, but it’s not mine.
And, the truth is, maybe it isn’t our fault. Maybe we really are just a victim or a bystander.
But, whatever got us to this point — the good and the bad —- we’re still here. We shouldn’t look back to figure out who’s to blame, but we can (and should) look forward and decide what we’re going to do about it.
Whether we’re to blame or not, the buck stops here.
It’s time to let the sins of our past (or someone else’s past) stop affecting our present.
Today’s a new day — a new chance to be better.
