The Search
As men, we’re called to be spiritual leaders to those around us. The question you may then ask is “How do I become a spiritual leader?”
It’s a great question, a really great question. Powerful, in fact. And, while we have our doubts, and we know our own weaknesses and shortcomings, it’s important to remember that simply asking the question means we’re onto something. We’re asking questions — the right questions — and we are searching.
“The search is what anyone would undertake if he were not sunk in the everydayness of his own life. To become aware of the possibility of the search is to be onto something. Not to be onto something is to be in despair.” - Walker Percy
It’s so crucial to simply undertake the search. We don’t know what God has in store for us and where this search will lead, but we must remember that we can only take this life day by day. And, each day, we can take one small step to grow in virtue. One small step to practice prayer. One small step toward God.
Remember to be consistent over time...to persevere.
"He who endures to the end will be saved." Matthew 10:22
So, ask questions, commit to the search, and pray for the grace to persevere until the end.
