Treasure in your Chest
“…and his mother kept all these things in her heart.” — Luke 2:51
More than once in the Gospels, we hear these words about Mary: she kept all these things in her heart.
It’s easy to overlook—but it carries a lesson for us: Don’t forget what the Lord has done.
Too often, we fall into the habit of turning to God only in crisis. When we’re in need, we plead. And when the prayer is answered? We might say a quick thank you—or worse, move on as if nothing happened.
But Mary shows us another way. She treasured God’s work in her life. She didn’t just experience miracles—she remembered them. She turned them over in her heart. She pondered, reflected, and kept those moments close.
And so should we.
These aren’t just private memories. They are testimonies—seeds of faith meant to be planted in others. These are the stories we pass on to our children, our friends, our community:
“The Lord was there when I needed Him most.”
“God answered my prayer.”
“Remember when…”
Faith deepens when it's remembered and shared. Let your heart be like Mary’s—a treasure chest of God’s faithfulness.
Don’t just move on.
Treasure these things in your heart.
