Waiting

When we think of the Eucharist, our first thought connected to that gift is often Mass. But, we cannot forget about Adoration. 

Adoration, or time spent in front of the Blessed Sacrament, can be uncomfortable. The stillness, the silence, the sense of vulnerability. It’s easy to let our minds race to everything else that’s on our plate. But, no matter how much we might not want to, we must place ourselves humbly and quietly before Christ. 

We can’t spend time with Jesus and not be changed. By choosing to simply be there with an open heart, we will be changed. Our job is just to show up. 

Most dioceses have at least one parish with Adoration during the week— do some research to find one near you, if your parish doesn’t offer Adoration. If you can’t find one, simply spend some quiet time in front of the Tabernacle. 

At the end of this life, we will stand before the Divine Judge with nothing to hide behind. We must take the time now to adore, praise, and prepare ourselves for that moment.
