Walled Up
Imagine you’re in the market for a new house. You find one that seems absolutely perfect—the kind you’ve been dreaming of. As you step inside for the tour, everything feels just right. The layout, the space, the potential—it’s all there. But then, you notice something odd: a closet that’s completely sealed, walled up, as if hiding something.
That one hidden space changes how you see the whole house. You can’t help but wonder—what’s behind those walls? Why is it closed off?
Now, think of your soul as that house—a dwelling place designed for the Lord. In this analogy, God isn’t just a home buyer. He’s someone who loves you so deeply that He’s not coming to inspect or criticize; He’s coming to live with you. But here’s the question: how much of your “house” are you letting Him into?
So often, we invite the Lord in, but only on our terms. Maybe He gets one room—the tidy one we’ve prepared for Him. Or maybe we give Him access to most of the house, but there’s a closet, a basement, or even an entire floor that’s off-limits. Those are the places we seal off, the parts of our hearts we keep hidden.
We can’t hide anything from the Lord. And better yet, we don’t need to. He already knows what’s behind those walls, and His love for you hasn’t wavered one bit. In fact, He’s not put off by the damage. He’s the one who can repair it. The one who wants to repair it.
Let Him in. Let Him make your soul His home—not just in part, but in its entirety.
