"What would they think of us now?"
There’s a book by Kevin Vost titled “Hounds of the Lord,” which talks about the Dominican Saints, who belonged to the Order of Preachers.
Many of these powerhouse saints you’ve probably heard of: Saint Dominic de Guzman, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Saint Albert the Great, Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint Martin De Porres, Saint Rose of Lima, and a few more.
These saints lived in times vastly different than our own, as far back as the 1100s and up until the 1600s.
As men and women of such heroic virtue, and love for God and fellow man...what would they think of us now?
Would they marvel at how far our technology has advanced? Or, be aghast at how far our moral standards have fallen?
Would they think that we have it easier, or that our times are darker than their own?
At the end of the day, a lot has changed, yet at the same time, a lot hasn’t. Man is still fallen. Christ still saves. This life is a pilgrimage, no matter what land or time we’re passing through.
