Where We’re At
In the Gospels, there's very rarely a one-size-fits-all approach. Our Lord continues to meet people—and us—right where we're at.
He gives commands to people that recognize exactly where they are in their journey.
He doesn't cast demons out of the man living among the tombs and then say, "Go sell all you have and give to the poor."
He doesn't tell the centurion with great faith to "show yourself to the priest."
He doesn't tell the thousands who were fed with the loaves and fishes to "go and sin no more."
Each person gets what they need for their next step.
Christ speaks into their specific situations. From where they are, he shows them which way to go next. Not ten steps ahead, not the final destination—just the next faithful step.
Where is the Lord asking us to go from here? What's the next step He's calling us to take from exactly where we are right now?
Because that's how He works. One step at a time, meeting us where we're at.
