While You Wait
Once the seeds are in the ground, the hardest part begins: waiting.
It’s tempting to check the soil every day, looking for signs of life. To wonder if you did something wrong. Did I plant too early? Too deep? Is it getting enough water? Too much?
Waiting can feel like doing nothing—but it's not. Beneath the surface, things are happening that we can’t see. Roots are forming. Seeds are breaking open. Life is beginning in secret.
In the spiritual life, we often find ourselves in this same tension. We’ve done the work—prayed, acted, trusted. But nothing seems to be happening. Not yet.
And yet, waiting isn’t wasted time. It’s sacred. It forms us in patience, in hope, in dependence on God. Some of the most important growth happens underground, unseen.
So if you’re in a season of waiting, stay faithful. Keep watering. Keep showing up. The fruit will come—but only in God’s time.
