Winning Team
As Catholics, we believe that Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart will triumph in the end. She told us this at Fatima, but we also hear it in Genesis — she will crush the head of the serpent. In other words, Our Lady will go to bat for us, and we know that she’ll hit the game-winning home run. Because of this, it’s guaranteed that the good guys will win in the end, but we can’t just assume that we, as individual souls, will be on the winning team.
Our job, each and every day, is to make sure we’re on the right team. The winning team. How do we do that? By following the winning team’s rules: praying daily, receiving the Eucharist, and making regular confessions. We can look to our Hall of Fame, the Saints in Heaven, and do what they did.
There is evil afoot, but most of us can’t influence change at a global scale. What we can do, though, is open our hearts to God, and lead our family and friends closer to Him. In doing so, we make sure that we won’t be sitting in the wrong dugout when the time comes.
