You might have noticed a bit of radio silence from Summons a month or so ago. That wasn’t exactly planned. Earlier this year, I unexpectedly lost my job, which turned the past twelve months into a journey of prayer, discernment, and—honestly—just figuring things out! In God’s providence, things have worked out, and I’m now working for myself, helping clients with digital marketing.
The blessing in all of this is that I now have more flexibility with my time, which means I can devote more energy to Summons than ever before.
That brings me to my update: I’m reopening Summons for financial supporters!
Some of you may remember that I paused contributions about a year ago because I felt I couldn’t give Summons the time it deserved. That’s no longer the case—I’m excited and ready to invest in this mission.
This button should take you to our supporters page.
So, where does your support go?
First and foremost, it allows me to keep creating and sharing Summons, while also supporting my family. Beyond that, your support will help bring some exciting new projects to life:
Reviving Summons Magazine: I’d love to bring the magazine back with a fresh new approach. It won’t be exactly as it was before, but I have ideas that I think you’ll enjoy.
Launching a Podcast: This is something I’ve dreamed of for a long time. A podcast could be a fantastic way to expand our reflections, interview inspiring voices, and reach a broader audience.
ALSO – To show my gratitude, I’m introducing a new perk for supporters: the “6th Summons.”
This will be a special Saturday email with content that goes beyond the daily reflections—think longer articles, book reviews, interviews, and maybe even some wild ideas and experiments I’m excited to share. My hope is for this extra email to feel like a bonus “summons” to dive deeper each week.
Of course, there’s absolutely no obligation to support financially. The Monday-through-Friday emails will continue to be free for everyone. But if you feel called to help Summons grow, your support will make a huge difference—and it will allow us to take some big steps forward together.
As always, please keep me in your prayers! Thank you for being part of Summons, and here’s to what lies ahead!
God bless,
Mark
PS: Once again, here’s the button to become a supporter:
I’m so pleased that circumstances (and Providence!) have permitted you to put Summons on a firmer basis. Have you ever thought of gathering some of your reflections into a small book? You can go to any Catholic book store and pick up any number of leather-bound, gold-edged books of meditations that don’t hold a candle to your offerings. Unlike most of the daily meditations I receive by e-mail, yours are not based on the Mass Readings of the day. But, for some reason, they always strike a very relevant chord. God bless you!
